About us

What Is Student Venture?

High school can be an intimidating four years. Students working toward graduation face incredible pressures in the class room and with their peers. Many succumb to drinking, cheating, gambling, drugs and sex; which cloud their once bright horizons.

Student Venture reaches out to thousands of students each year with God's offer of love and forgiveness together with His power and purpose for daily living. Student Venture was est. in 1967 as the high school outreach of Campus Crusade for Christ, Intl.; a transdenominational Christian ministry of evangelism and discipleship. Campus Crusade headquarters in Orlando, Florida with 25,000 staff working in over 150 countries.

Our People
Well, you probably became acquainted with us by meeting one of the fantastic people who work with us. The staff, interns, and volunteers of Student Venture are some of the friendliest people in the WORLD! Okay, maybe we're a little biased... but these people REALLY care about kids and it comes out in their lives.

Our Focus
Why are kids so important to us? Because each one has been created by God with immeasurable value and eternal purpose. Those are some big ideas... but we really believe them. Each kid has such incredible potential -- practically their entire lives are ahead of them. And they are making some of the most important decisions of their lives...college, career, family...the consequences of these choices can have life-long implications. By investing our lives into theirs, we help them meet these challenges, overcome temptations, and most importantly, see how God has a place in their lives.

The Answer
You see, Student Venture believes that God desires to have a relationship with everyone ... even teenagers. We believe that He made a way for that to happen through His Son, Jesus. We think that is really, really good news! And we want to share it with every student at every school.

Our Strategy
How do we reach out to kids? There are really two parts to it, and they can be summed up with the phrase, "Each and Every Student".

We want to spend personal time with each student -- "life to life". That means going where they are, hanging out with them and their friends, finding out what issues they are dealing with, and answering their questions one by one. Nothing means more to kids than just spending time with them.

But we also want to meet every student. That means we also sponsor events on a larger scale. These can range from basic motivational and instructional talks given to classrooms, teams, and clubs ... to school-wide assemblies ... to weekend and week-long conferences where we go deep into what it means to know God.

We aren't alone in this effort. We are a community-based organization. That means we enlist the help of parents, community leaders, youth organizations, and churches to increase our ability to help students.

The goal of this is to clearly and compassionately communicate the truth and love of Jesus to every middle and high school student in the Atlanta area. As kids are won to Christ, we work to build them up in their faith and train them to share this incredible message with others. We really grow as a movement when students ask other students to be involved.
